ANNA PRIOR SILENCE

Anna Prior taps into a drum & bass–leaning corner of her sound with 'Silence', pairing serious low-end pressure with a striking sense of restraint. The track lets absence do most of the talking, as sparse lyrics repeat like a mantra, 'Silence turned to a scream' gradually gathering weight as layered harmonies swell around them. It’s minimal, hypnotic, and quietly intense, allowing emotion to build through rhythm and texture rather than exposition. The track was co-produced by I. Jordan, who brings a bass presence that adds real physicality beneath the electronic instincts. 'Silence' stands out as some of Anna’s strongest work to date, and a clear marker of the direction she’s heading on her forthcoming EP Firefly. There’s a new confidence here: deeply rooted in electronic music with a strong DnB pulse. The accompanying visualiser of a nocturnal time-lapse of cars weaving through tunnels and traffic mirrors the track’s momentum and isolation, lights glaring against the dark. It’s music for late nights and inward moments. -Rachel Fryer
